Deastro - "Parallelogram"

I have to admit that it really did take me a while to get into this song. At first I passed the song off as being just plain weird to me, but after giving it a few more listens I noticed the similarities to Dan Deacon and Animal Collective and it really helped me understand why it was so great. Despite these similarities, Randolph Chabot is able to maintain a certain uniqueness that keeps the band afloat. The intro itself sounds like nothing else I've ever heard. The drums set the song up perfectly for the rest of the song in a weird kind of way. It's really remarkable what one man can do with a synthesizer and a great imagination these days. The genre has come a long way.
