The Wrens - "Everyone Choose Sides"

You can tell how great a song is when you the version you have is god-awful, but you still love the song. I don't know if the recording is actually supposed to sound like this, but I'm quite sure it's not supposed to cut off and end in ten seconds of silence. Anyway, this is the song that got me interested in The Wrens and to this day I haven't found a song by them that can top this. I used to just skip over it all the time because of the bad quality, but once the singing starts, I remember why I like it. Once the singer starts singing, I forget all about the shitty quality of the song and get sucked in. Although I can't even understand most of the lyrics, the chorus gets stuck in my head for days at a time. Also worth noting is that this is one of the most respectable bands in the world of indie rock. This is one of the few bands that can truly say they don't do it for the money.
