Cloud Cult is usually pretty hit or miss, especially with the tracks on their recently released The Meaning of 8. Not only is "Purpose" one of the best on the album, but this song is actually one of the highlights of their eight album career. There's something so mesmerizing about the out-of-tune piano (which I've always been a fan of) and the screeching guitar parts that make the song so incredibly beautiful. When Cloud Cult hits their stride, they really nail it and are able to produce some really remarkable music, and this is definitely proof. Everything from the interesting array of instruments to the deep lyrics that really make you think just have Cloud Cult written all over them. To hell with the going down!
