Santogold - "Starstruck"Although she's mostly known for her Tegan and Sara-esque single "L.E.S. Artistes," which can be heard in every single movie and commercial from the past year or so, it's one of her less popular songs that got me interested in her. "Starstruck" actually sounds nothing like "L.E.S. Artistes" and could more easily be compared to a song by an R&B artist such as Rihanna. However, due to her indie status, Santogold's not even allowed to be mentioned in the same sentence as her. I actually always thought Santogold would sound more like M.I.A., but this is really as close as she gets to any of her music. She definitely has a ton of influences, but this song is so original that I can't even name any that come close to her sound.
