St. Vincent - "Marrow"I always though St. Vincent was just another Regina Spektor or a younger Joni Mitchell, just another one of those annoying singer-songwriters who write numbingly boring songs about how they hate men. She also freaked me out a little bit, due to her strange pictures on her album covers. But I recently caught her playing on Letterman and I was stunned. She's almost like a female David Byrne, very odd, yet extremely talented and seemingly very modest. From watching live videos it seems that the song sounds better in concert, but either way, her fretwork is sick, as are the pounding synths.
