Clues - "Remember Severed Head"

So I don't know about best new band, but Clues wins weirdest new band of the year hands down. Everything from the lyrics to the guitar parts to the squeaks and squeals, Clues may come off as a bit obnoxious at first, but you will soon see the good in their music. I suppose the Unicorns comparison is quite accurate, as both bands come off as quirky and completely ridiculous upon first listen. I had no idea that the band was founded by one third of The Unicorns (Alden Penner), but I can't say I was too surprised. I'm glad that the dissolution of one of Canada's greatest indie trios had such a great outcome with the formation of this and Islands. It almost makes you want to see more bands fall apart, doesn't it?
