Great Lake Swimmers - "Pulling On A Line"

I've decided to celebrate Canadians this week, as it turns out that all of my current favorite bands hail from the Great White North. Perhaps the greatest Canadian single of the year, "Pulling On A Line" is most comparable to an Okkervil River track sung by Sam Beam of Iron & Wine. It's always weird to hear a song this folksy be catchy at the same time. Similarly, the song is very simple, yet it's message is very deep. The balance of this song is unbelievable, and I definitely look forward to picking this album up, as well as the release of the Song Sung Blue EP which comes out tomorrow.
