After listening to Face Control numerous times in the past few months, it was pretty weird to go back and listen to something a little older. I'd never expected to hear an acoustic guitar, let alone any instrument that's not an electric guitar or a keyboard on one of their tracks. This sounds like a completely different band--er, Wolf Parade side project--from the lovely young couple who brought us one of the greatest albums of the past year. That's what I love about Boeckner and Krug: their creativity is endless, seemingly releasing album after album under different names. However, as much as I like this song, I'm glad they dropped the acoustic guitar on Face Control. It sounds much smoother without.
