For me, 2010 has mostly been made up of songs like this--not necessarily bad, but I just can't fully enjoy them for whatever reason. "Jellyfish Wrangler" is perhaps one of the most bland of the lot, and, unfortunately, one of the longest. At times I can hear hints of The Walkmen circa Bows + Arrows (actually, it's mostly the self-titled track that I can pick out) in their oozy delivery and twangy guitars, not to mention the singer's Hamilton Leithauser-influenced singing style. I actually just came across another song from this album which is more interesting and much more upbeat, so I suppose I shan't write them off so soon.
