For the most part my taste in music is pretty laid back, and to be quite honest, mature. But every once in a while I get the urge to rock out to some Japandroids or No Age, modern indie-punk bands that are known for their angst. Don't get me wrong, I still dig the classics like Sonic Youth and Nirvana, but I feel that modern bands have taken their sound and transformed it into something more likable and much easier on the ears. "Teen Creeps" is a great example of this. Although the pounding guitars may sound like they were recycled from a youthful Sonic Youth, the vocals are completely original as is the keyboard in the opening few seconds. I can always picture teens skateboarding when I hear this song, and I'm guessing that was the imagery the band had in mind when they wrote it.
