Black Mountain - "Stay Free"Well, I guess I'm still obsessed with Canadian bands. I was excited when I looked up this band that I was first introduced to me by the kind folks at Warner Bros. who put together the "soundtrack" for the third, and worst, installment of the Spider-man series. By listening to this song alone, I noticed plenty of similarities to the music of Great Lake Swimmers and other such brilliant Canadian acts and soon made the connection. Not that the fact that they're Canadian really matters, this is a terrific song. Much different from the rest of their more recent work on In The Future, this is much more mellow and acoustic, and overall more relaxing. I don't really know where it would have fit into the film if they had actually included it in Spider-man, but I'm just glad they gave the band an excuse to write such a pretty track.
