Cursive - "Let Me Up"I didn't really get too excited for Cursive's new album last year until I heard this song. I absolutely adored the two that preceded Mama, I'm Swollen, but I just couldn't get into their most recent attempt. That is, until about three minutes into "Let Me Up." I felt like the album seemed a bit half-assed up until this point, where it takes off in a direction somewhat new to the band, and very exciting for longtime fans such as myself. Now the anticipation up to this point is just as satisfying to me as the chill-inducing crescendo itself, a recipe for greatness. Even if Mama didn't quite live up to the success of 2006's Happy Hollow, it was still lyrically brilliant and moments like this made me glad to own so many pairs of underwear.
