So lately I've been digging through some old files and I was fortunate enough to come across a few albums I hadn't heard in years. Among them were Gnarls Barkley's St. Elsewhere and Flobots' 2007 debut. Upon listening to them again, I remembered why I'd stopped playing them in the first place, as neither really have interested me. But after hearing the the closing track to Fight With Tools, well, I guess you could say I sort of had a religious moment. As you probably already know, I'm into the whole white rapper thing, and this is quite simply pure genius. I guess I just really like the idea of Flobots, even though their talent only shines through on a few of their songs. But this one...wow. I don't even. Man. Just. Man. Who knew violins could compliment a hip-hop track so flawlessly.
