The Drums - "Let's Go Surfing"
So 2010 has been a pretty good year for beach-friendly songs despite the fact that summer has just begun. "Let's Go Surfing" has actually been out for a few years now, but The Drums finally released their debut LP last week, and I just wanted to take this time to celebrate. So far, I haven't come across a song as fun and Beach Boys-y as this one on the album (or anywhere else, actually), and I really don't expect to. Anyway, the carefree nature of this song (I originally thought he was saying "Obama" instead of "oh mama" and I figured it was some sort of political statement) has definitely given me a more optimistic outlook on this summer and at times helps me forget that I'm currently unemployed.
