Princeton - "Sugarcube"
I always get nervous when a band I don't know a whole lot about (and have a small grudge against for some reason) covers a song by a legendary act such as Yo La Tengo. It seems that they'll either perform the song EXACTLY like the original or perhaps put some awful spin on it making it almost unrecognizable. Well, Princeton did the first one, but it turned out quite well. The only noticeable difference between the two is the escalated amount of noise heard in Princeton's brilliant cover, a trait you'd expect to hear from YLT instead. Near the end there, they just really get off track and the song becomes almost unrecognizable, so they still get a few points for originality. I wish I could find you guys a link to an MP3 file, but it's not available on Amazon or iTunes. I'll guess I'll just leave you with the next best thing.
