Josh Ritter - "Change of Time"
Despite my constant harping about the latest from Bear Hands, Hooray For Earth, and other such summer-friendly groups, I've had the gentle, yet powerful, melodies from Josh Ritter's newest release playing over in my head these past few days. I suppose it's a different kind of catchy than the aforementioned groups, but "Change of Time" may very well be this year's "Skinny Love" in its subtle, unrelenting beauty that's guaranteed to grow on you over time. I guess I'd never really taken the time to listen to Ritter's music until now, which I realize is because I associate him with John Ritter who I always got mixed up with Jim Belushi, who sucks. So there's that.
